We arrived in Venezia (or Venice as we all know it) on a Saturday afternoon, just in time to take a sunset water taxi ride to Lido where our beautiful hotel, Villa Mabapa, waited for us. That evening we had a dinner with our tour group and then settled in for the night. With an early start on Sunday, we ventured to Murano - the tiny island amidst the Venetian islands known for its ancient art of glass blowing. We watched as sand fired with various elements and metals were blown to create beautiful vases, figurines and extremely expensive drinkware. After Murano, we made our way to Venice to tour the Doge's Palace, Piazza San Marco, a memorable Gondola ride (did you know that it's one of the most honored traditions there?!), SHOPPING, and of course my favorite...foodie adventures. My favorite foodie adventure was sitting outdoors at Caffé Florian for lunch, listening to beautiful classical music, and enjoying cappuccino, gelato and family time. I seriously needed to be pinched -- were we really there?!! It felt like a dream.
